Capital increase

Background

swisscleandrive ltd. develops and produces plug-in hybrid electric drives as a conversion kit for production cars. The converted vehicles get their energy from the plug as well as from the gaz station.

The development of the fascinating and enviromently friendly cars now makes the step from protoype to production. This demands for extra financial means.

The firm will increase their capital in three steps from CHF 149'000 to CHF 1.5 mio. In the first Quarter of 2012 it is forseen to emit 500 shares of nominal 1'000 CHF each and to enlarge the capital base by CHF 500'000.

Technology

"swisscleandrive plug-in hybrid electric drive" is pretty hard to spell, yet it is the easyest and most fun way to turn a Fiat 500 into a culty electric car, not missing anything at all: The conventional engine stays in place just in case, for long distance journeys and 4x4 power. The electric range of 30-40 km is more than enough for pure electric and CO2 neutral everyday drives.

Business model

swisscleandrive makes the technology available for the clients through licenced production with partners. The licenced production of the patented technology makes the businessmodel of the Switzerland based company scalable and alows for rapid growth.

The automotive industry is well familiar with the conversion business. Converters add alterations to the car without changing the brand. Important segments like equiping cars with natural gas (CNG, LPG, bifuel) or electric drive systems, increase of performance (tuning, pimping), adaptations for people with physical restrictions or 4x4 for light professional vehicles and much more are largely covered by converters. Basically they meet most of the customer needs which are below the threshold of massproduction (200'000 vehicles per year).

September 2008: Cooperation with the BFH-TI technical college in Biel/Bienne for the evaluation and refinement of the swisscleandrive hybrid concept
May 2009: Support from different utilities and the federal goverment to build a prototype on the base of the Fiat 500
October 2009: Rollout of Prototype with different industrial- and engineering partners
May 2010: Design freeze and homologation of the prototype under Swiss law (street legal)
